My pottery is thrown, pinched or a combination of the two showcasing form, glaze and the ceramic stone surface.
My sculptural forms are hand built and strives to achieve strong contrast of color utilizing underglazes and oxides.
Women of Greek Mythology
How interesting, the perception of woman that has been written into the Greek myths of ancient times. Painted as villains and monsters, troublemakers and manipulators there is a lack of complexity that fully creates us in the retellings of ancient stories told through literature and artwork. The perception of women in these stories from ancient times are evolving in our contemporary world. I strive to add to the complexity of their stories.
Old Master Studies
Art is more than the act of creating for me. It encompasses the act of studying and the never-ending quest for knowledge. There is no better quote that sums up my journey through art than the last words of Michelangelo, “I’m still learning”.
